Tiny world

December 9, 2022 celebrates one year of love for me and Linh 🥰. Today, Van Anh and I went on a trip to the Strasbourg Christmas market. While walking around the market, I saw a stall selling eye-catching wooden assembled toys. I was most impressed with the ferris wheel, partly because I like playing that game. This is the first gift in my wooden furniture collection. I have never played this type of assembly game so I want to try it. And this is also the first and most successful finished product. The assembly process went very smoothly and once completed, the Ferris wheel roared to life 😁.

From then on, I became passionate about assembling wooden toys. The second set is Magic Cello.

This set doubles the difficulty, because in order for the bow to move when playing music, there are many pulleys, gears and rotating shafts inside. When removing the parts from the wooden frame, be very careful so that they are not scratched or broken and must be carefully ground so that the smooth gears do not get caught when rotating. I sanded it with sandpaper and waxed it to make the gears turn smoother, but when I finished, they couldn't run. Because the gears are entangled with each other, they jam. I've tried everything, disassembled and reassembled, repaired all kinds of things, but it still doesn't work 🥺. Even though everything looks fine on the outside, the bow cannot be pulled back and forth. Therefore, the finished product has a few differences with the illustration on the packaging 😂.

I'm so angry, I want to take revenge and assemble another model 😂. So a series of other wooden models were brought home, including: electric guitar, piano, globe and television.

It's true that I succeed in assembling anything that doesn't require movement, but anything involving gears is a failure. All wooden models so far that involve gears cannot rotate, except for the Ferris wheel. It's so painful 😅.

There is a funny story with a cute pink piano. The original version of this piano has no color, but I wanted to break it up and paint it pink before assembling it to make it beautiful. Who would have thought that the paint layer made the wood thicker, quadrupling the difficulty 🤣. Normally, without painting, the gears are difficult to operate. After painting, they do not run, which also prolongs assembly time. I almost gave up halfway through, but luckily it took shape, but it still couldn't play music. So it's just for display.

After many stumbles, I decided not to assemble anything with gears anymore. I switched to a new genre: mini cafe model.

Everything in the shop is tiny and adorable. The manufacturer also printed a detailed step-by-step instruction booklet. There are also additional accessories such as glue, folding tools and mini screwdrivers. Although it took time and required meticulousness, it was not difficult and was successful hehehe.
